Welcome First Graders! I look forward to having a wonderful year with you and your families. My name is Ms. O'Connell and I am going to be your teacher this year. When I was younger, I went to St. Johns elementary school, JCMS, and Lumen Christi (Go Titans!). I receieved my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education & Early Childhood from Western Michigan University in 2008 and substitute taught in various Jackson districts before getting hired at Queen's. This will be my third year teaching here and I love being surrounded by all of the wonderful students and excellent teachers!
About Ms. O'Connell:
Besides teaching, I love to spend time with those who are most important to me: my family and friends. I like to go to concerts, sporting events, movies, and plays. I try my best to stay in shape through running and Zumba. I ran in a lot of road races this summer and my goal is to run a Marathon this year (only for fun of course)!
I am a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters and have been a part of the program for over 6 years. My little sister is 7 years old, and in the second grade. She and I have a lot of fun doing things together out in the community. I am also a member of Women's Leadership Club. We are an organization who work together to help both women and children succeed.
